  • Meet your new travel pals at the airport. Chill in the city and rest well before the adventure starts tomorrow!

  • We’ll begin our day with a long drive to Gulcha, where we will meet our horses and start the trek! We start on a path up a dirt road. It runs alongside the Kara Bulak stream towards the Tepshi camp, passing by shepherds’ yurts nestled among the Junipers plants. As we approach the top of the climb, we’ll leave the road for a trail that leads up the ridge. This is where we’ll stop for lunch, taking in the rugged beauty of the Alay Mountains across the gorge formed by the Gulcha river. Afterward, we’ll descend to the Tepshi camp, where we’ll enjoy dinner with our host before calling it a night!

  • Over the next 3 days, we’ll embark on a horse riding adventure into the untamed beauty of the Alay Mountains. Escape the mundane city life, and experience the exhilaration of riding freely over the vast and beautiful mountains. We’ll ride through two mountain passes — Airy Bell Pass (2950m) and Ak Tor Pass (3557m)! Serene trails wind through pine forests, and through rocky mountain paths. At night, we’ll live like how the traditional nomads did, in yurts! Engage with local people, learn more about Kyrgyz traditional culture and cuisine, and we’ll even get to witness cow milking and dairy making by our hosts!

  • Get ready to say goodbye to your horses 🙁 The last day of riding starts by following an easy road along the Pamir Highway, alongside beautiful gorges and running streams. We’ll arrive at our guesthouse for lunch, rest up, and take a nice hot shower!

  • Drive to our next yurt camp at Tulpar Kul lake in the morning, and we’ll drop our bags before heading out for a day hike up to Traveler’s Pass at 4150m! The trail is a gradual incline and a total of about 650m of ascent. We’ll stop for lunch on top of the Pass before heading back down the way we came.

  • The drive back is about 5 hours long, but we will stop along the way to see the Kyrgyzstan art of Shyrdak (felt carpet) production of wool. Observe the sewing process, and buy back souvenirs if you’d like. At Osh we’ll have our final team dinner together!

  • We’ll take our domestic flight (not included) from Osh to Bishkek, and will stay in Bishkek for a night. Explore this vibrant city and its historic sites and marketplaces.

  • This marks the end of the exciting adventure to Kyrgyzstan. Catch your early flight and make your way back to SG. (Or stay for an extra few days – up to you!)

During the trip 1 to 2 Travel Leads from TTI will be on the trip, making sure everything runs smoothly on the ground! They’re also there to take photos and videos so all you have to do is enjoy the moment. We’ll travel with local guides that have years of training and experience to guide us safely. Common Questions

    1. Who is this trip suitable for?

    If you’re adventurous, open-minded, and excited to immerse in a new culture, this is the trip for you! Also if,

    1. You want to visit Kyrgyzstan without having to plan

    2. You have an open heart to meet people from different walks of life and go with the flow

    3. You want to experience traditional nomad life on horseback, and you want to trek and rough it out in the Alay Mountains and connect with nature.

    This trip is NOT for you if you

    • You are extremely risk-averse – We do our best to assess the risk and only work with vendors with years of experience and a good track record. However, as the tour involves adventurous outdoor activities, we are at the mercy of the weather, the terrain, and unpredictable accidents. If this scares you, this might not be the right trip for you.

    • You avoid physical activity – If a short flight of stairs leaves you breathless, you might struggle with the hikes and active nature of this trip. A level of fitness is required to fully enjoy the experience.

    • You struggle with unpredictability – Plans may shift due to weather or local conditions. If last-minute changes stress you out, this trip may be frustrating for you.

    • You have a ‘customer is always right’ mindset – We do our best to provide an amazing experience, but nature and logistics don’t always cooperate. The priority of our local guides is safety, and our team will not hesitate to take anyone out of the tour if the need arises.

    You’ll also need to take a domestic flight to Osh. We will send out the exact flights upon sign up :)

  • Flights recommendations will be sent out, but are not included in the package. This gives you the flexibility to plan if you’d like to extend your trip before or after joining us! However please note that the flight transfers to the hotels will not be included if you do not take the recommended flights.

  • You don’t have to be an athlete but we wouldn’t recommend going from couch potato, straight into the mountains! Both horse riding and trekking are physically demanding activities, so you will need to train up to fully enjoy this experience. Good news is that there is time to train up.

  • We’ll be going during summer, with day temperatures ranging from 20-25C, and the nights dropping to 0-10C. The temperatures vary depending upon the altitude, wind and other weather conditions, so it’s still important to bring layers to stay warm.

  • No you don’t, beginners are welcomed! We’ll learn together, and stick to walking! It will be an amazing experience though, and you’ll get more comfortable as the day goes on 🙂

  • In the mountains, we’ll be hosted in guesthouses and traditional yurt camps run by the locals. In the yurts, you’ll be sleeping on mats on the ground with blankets piled on top, and sharing it with 3-5 other people of the same gender. It’s not going to be luxurious glamping, but we’ll get to experience the nomadic culture and way of life! In the cities, it will be a mix of 3-4 star hotels with twin sharing rooms.

    There will be modern toilets and hot showers at the guesthouses. In the yurts, it’ll depend on each yurt camp, but most have a shared toilet outside. Most yurt camps won’t have a hot shower, but we can always take a dip in the nearby rivers! 😀

  • If you take the recommended flights, we will meet at Changi airport! If not, we will meet you at Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek or Osh.

    1. You shall be entitled to the following refunds if you notify the Tour Agency of your withdrawal from the trip, based on the following notice periods:

      1. 90 days or more: Full refund, including your deposit, less a $200 administrative fee

      2. Between 31-90 days: 40% of the total trip cost

      3. 30 days or less: No refund

    2. Any amount to be refunded to you will be processed within 30 days from the date of cancellation. 

    3. You acknowledge and agree that the fees associated with securing accommodations, flights, and other services for the trip may have already been paid to third-party vendors. You further acknowledge that the cancellation policy outlined herein is not intended as a penalty, but rather as a necessary provision to cover the costs incurred by the Tour Agency in arranging and securing these services on your behalf.

  • There is no strict age restriction for our trips. But we recommend that participants be in good general health and comfortable with the nature of the itinerary. If you’re unsure whether a trip is suitable for you or someone you’re travelling with, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to advise.

  • Our participants are usually about 25-40 years old. We have both solo travellers and groups of friends join us. At the end, we all end up friends! We usually have more females than males.

  • Unfortunately, we do not disclose that information. But rest assured, we will update all our participants on the status of the trip at least 3-4 months before. If the trip is cancelled due to insufficient sign ups, we will issue a full refund of your deposit.

  • Minimum will be 12, maximum 18

  • The trip can still go ahead as a private trip. If you decide that you do not want to go as a private group, we will issue a full refund of your deposit.

  • Trips to interesting and unique destinations are more fun with a big group! But not everyone has friends that are willing to jump onto an adventure at a moments notice. We planned this community trip so you can meet other fellow adventurers from different walks of life that are equally passionate about travel. There’s also safety in numbers, and our team on the ground will lookout for each and every one of you 🙂

    What’s more, our TTI Experiences team will be on the ground capturing different moments from the trip. We’ll be sharing some edited photos for you to remember all the small, the epic, and the silly moments
